The site as it stands today, however, is largely the work of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), who expanded the area into a Versaillesque garden filled with European-style buildings in 1872-1889. Last restored in 2001, the palace and its grounds are maintained in immaculate shape and well worth a visit.

Krabi - Unseen in Thailand

Krabi is the once wonderful place of my travel expereince , I had a chance to visit to Krabi in last year (2006).Krabi after Tsunami is more beautiful than the past , more clear water make us can clearly see the fish and coral. Many tourists known that Phuket is the beautiful island while just less people known that Krabi is also the paradise of trvelling and not different from Phuket.

Krabi province is not so far from Phuket , many beautiful islands is located between Phuket and Krabi ,so the tourist can go to island from both Phuket and Krabi. Because Phuket is very famous for many foreigner, so it is very crowded with the tourists while Krabi is not so. So I think Krabi is very wonderful place for the tourist who do not like noise and crowded people.

And Ao Nang beach (Krabi)is the best of my experience that I want to suggest you to visit.
The tourists do not need to advance booking any tour because you can search for tours from many tours company at Ao nang beach or at the counter information of every hotel at there.

Krabi information

This seaside province is located in the Andaman Sea. The province is full of white sandy beaches, crystal clear seawater, beautiful islands, verdant forest with caves, and waterfalls, including more than 100 offshore islands

The province consists of mountains, hills, plains, and mangrove forests, including more than 130 large and small islands. Krabi town has a 5 kilometre-long river, which flows through town and ends at the Andaman Sea in Tambon Pak Nam. There are several canals in Krabi including Khlong Pakasai, Khlong Krabi Yai and Khlong Krabi Noi, all of them originate from Phanom Bencha mountain range, the highest mountain range in Krabi.

Ao Nang beach - Krabi
Ao Nang is Krabi's vibrant tourist centre. It has the relaxed vibe of a small town, the beauty of a beach resort, the modern comforts of home, and the friendliness the sets Thailand apart.
The town itself is small; an hour-long stroll takes you from one end to the other. Given that floating buildings are impractical and sheer cliffs don't readily lend themselves to development, this paradise won't be paved over anytime soon.

By road, Ao Nang is just minutes from Krabi Town and Klong Muang Beach and mere seconds to Noppharat Thara Beach. Via sea, Railay's beaches - including Ton Sai - and a grab bag of small, intimate islands are nearby. Pick a direction and give your waterborne taxi thirty minutes. A world of adventure waits.

Of course, leaving Ao Nang is far from necessary. Great food, interesting people, cheap shopping, and a stellar beach make it a standalone destination. For plenty of travellers, this is the end of the road. Use it as a jumping-off point to see the rest of Krabi's wondrous secrets, or make it your only target. Either way, you'll thoroughly enjoy Ao Nang.

Krabi weather

Weather in Krabi is typically that of the tropical monsoon, providing the province with just two seasons, the hot season from January to April, and the rainy season from May to December.
Monsoon winds, which change according to season, blow from the southeast, the southwest, and the northeast.Temperatures range between 16.9 and 37.3 degrees Celsius and the yearly rainfall averages 2,568.5 millimeters.
Beachs and Islands in Krabi
1. PHI-PHI ISLANDS -The most important island
The most important is Hat Noppharat Thara-Ko Phi Phi National Park, better known as Phi-Phi Island, due west and south of Phuket Town. The park contains extensive mainland beaches, over 80 lesser islands, and two islands of outstanding physical yet contrasting beauty which have become the symbol of the perfect tropical island.
Phi Phi Lea covers an area of just six square kilometer and is characterized by rugged, steep and lightly vegetated cliffs rising from the seabed, hidden bays concealing small pristine beaches and calm clear water whose colour is a kaleidoscope of greens and blues. Its Viking Caves gets its name from the ancient murals depicting Viking-like sailing vessels. The caves are home to sea swallows whose nests are much sort after for the Chinese delicacy Birds Nest Soup.
Two kilometers north is the larger Phi Phi Don covering an area of 28 square kilometers. The island is famed for its palm fringed white sand beaches protected by the mountain masses. Beach side bungalows and chalets are available. The area immediately adjacent to a Muslim fishing village contains bars with live music; restaurants specializing in western and Thai cuisine; cabarets; souvenir shops; dive shops and charter boat operators offering game fishing and day trips to Ko Paid (Bamboo Island) a half an hour boat ride from Phi Phi Don and claimed by many locals to be one of the most beautiful and unspoiled, uninhabited islands in the area.
Yachtmen and scuba divers that can discover and enjoy peaceful anchorage, tranquility and privacy in various locations favouring the Phi Phi group of islands. It has become the start and finishing point for Phuket's prestigious King's Cup yacht race each December. And was recently the location for the film "The Beach" staring Leonardo di Caprio.

There are many kind of tours for the tourist ,you can search its from many companies at Ao Nabg beach or the information counter of every hotel. The staff from tour company will pick you up from the hotel in the morning for going to the peir.

Pattaya

Only 2 hours from Bangkok, this resort city(pattaya) caters to every whim. Lazy afternoons on the beach, go-karting, paintballing, golf, and full steam ahead nightlife are just a few of the entertainments provided.

Pattaya is the wonderful place for holiday fun and provides it with the utmost convenience. A tiny fishing village only twenty-odd years ago, it has swiftly developed into an extraordinary vacation spot catering to the holiday maker’s every whim. Pattaya has it all: tranquil beaches, lavish resorts, luscious seafood and a gamut of sporting and leisure activities – all less than two hours from Bangkok’s concrete jungle.

Traveling to and around Pattaya

Pattaya is just 140 kilometres east of Bangkok. The town can be accessed by road and railway. Starting from Bangkok, tourists have a number of options in terms of a road trip such expressway, motorway and elevated highway. A trip by bus can take from the Eastern Bus Terminal in Bangkok takes merely 2 hours to get to the first beach of Pattaya.

Traveling around Pattaya is easy. Motorbike taxi and pickup truck converted bus (locally known as Song-Taew) can be seen everywhere. The beachside road is one-way street that connects North Pattaya, Middle Pattaya and South Pattaya – the last one is a walking street at night. Additionally, you can also drive along its inner city road to Jomtien beach.

On Land

Pattaya town offers a range of museums, indoor and outdoor shopping, countless golf courses, and even a world class go-karting track. Fifteen minutes out of town is “Nong Nooch”, a gorgeous orchid-studded botanical garden that features cultural performances of music, dance and martial arts. Not far off is the Elephant Kraal, where elephants show off their skills as foresters, footballers, and most impressively, as warriors – re-enacting Siam’s ancient battles.

At Sea

Though Pattaya’s 4 kilometer beach is unspectacular, it’s a short boat ride to one of several lush islands just off the bay. Koral Island, or "Koh Lann" is a popular spot for waterskiing, sailing, scuba diving, boat tours of the coral reefs and deep sea fishing. Want something more sedate? Head out a bit further to Bamboo island and deepen your tan on a quiet white sand beach.

Nightlife

At night, Pattaya becomes a neon hive of activity. Though notorious for the “naughty nightlife” along the beach strip, there is a wide variety of cabaret-style entertainment for the more sophisticated visitor. The Alcazar Show is probably the most famous of these. For detailed listings, pick up the Pattaya Mail weekly newspaper.

Beaches in Pattaya

North Pattaya: nostalgic serenity
North Pattaya or Pattaya Neau is the most peaceful beach among the three main beaches in town. Mass tourism originated on this beach before it spread to north and south Pattaya. Many hotels that were established three decades ago can still be seen lining this brown sandy beach, proving its longevity and popularity. The beach starts from the Dolphin roundabout in front of Dusit Resort. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent along this shady beach while restaurants, bars and convenient stores are just walking distance.

Middle Pattaya: The beach of fun
Just a little bit south of North Pattaya passing the golden mermaid and dolphin statues is Middle Pattaya, the beach of fun. This is the most popular and, certainly, lively beach in Pattaya. This is the area where shopping malls, boutique shops, bars, restaurants and coffee shops are crammed along a busy beachside road. There are more beach chairs, umbrellas and tourists in Middle Pattaya than other beaches. During the day, the area is enthusiastic with beachgoers frolicking on the beach or enjoying several kinds of water sports activities such as jet skiing, banana boat, paragliding and parasailing. At night, the street is illuminated with pubs, bars and restaurants. Middle Pattaya may not be the most favourite place in Pattaya but it is usually the place ones choose not to be missed.

South Pattaya:
South Pattaya is located next to Middle Pattaya. The area may not have an attractive beach like North or Middle Pattaya. People seem to come here for a different reason. Looking more energetic at night, it draws many fun-loving tourists who stroll this 500 metre lane looking for a fun time after dark. Numerous shops, restaurants, bars, discotheques, nightclubs line the streets. Thus, it is the place for adults only.

Jomtien Beach - The most famous beach in Pataya
Situated 3 kilometers southward of the downtown, Jomtien is a spin-off from Pattaya. This 6 kilometre long beach may bear some resemblance to Pattaya beach in terms of beach activities. However, it has an ambience of isolation. Thanks to its distance from Pattaya.
The beach is suitable for swimming as plenty of water sports activities are available. Accommodations on this beach are relatively cheap and there are enough restaurants to serve diners.

Off the street to Jomtien Beach is another beach named Dong Tan. It has a more relaxing atmosphere than its neighbouring beaches due to its no-car parking policy. Indeed, cars are allowed to pass and park on this beach only before 10 am and after 5 pm. The beach is shady with pine trees and beach umbrellas. Therefore, this is the place where you will see beachgoers joyfully basking in the sun.

Koh Lan (Lan Island) -7 km. from Pattaya

Pattaya has a number of islands in its vicinity of which Koh Lan is the largest. The island is somewhat an extension of the mainland activities, featuring water sports such as diving snorkeling, windsurfing, waterskiing and para-sending. A key attraction is boats sailing around the island for sightseeing purposes. Some of the boats have glass bottoms enabling passengers to see coral and marine life at the bottom of the sea. The island has a number of beaches, the main beach hosting a number of excellent seafood restaurants selling dishes made from freshly caught seafood. The area also features deep sea fishing boats around Koh Lan neighbours, Koh Krok and Koh Sak.

Beaches in Koh Lan

Haad Ta Waen is the longest and most popular beach of Koh Lan. Located in the northwest of the island, this 750-metre-long beach has clear waters and white fine sand. The beach, which is popular among Asian tourists, is lined with colourful beach chairs, shops and restaurants.

Located in the west of Koh Lan is Haad Tian. This scenic beach in the cove stretches 500 metres long and features some coral reefs. It is as popular as Haad Ta Waen with loads of sport activities and restaurants on the offer.

Another beach near Haad Ta Waen is Haad Sungwal. It is a small beach, only around 150 metres long. Without any shops or restaurant in the area, the beach is quieter than Haad Ta Waen and good for sunbathing.

For those who prefer basking in the sun in peace, Haad Samae and Haad Ta Yai may serve your purpose. The first beach, which is only 10 minute walk from Haad Tian, is relatively quiet with shops and restaurants dotting the area. Nestling on the northern tip of the island, the latter beach has fewer beach goers and only one beachside restaurant.

Details: Koh Lan is 45 minutes from Pattaya beach by boat or 20 minutes by long-tail boat. Most of the tour boats make anchor to take advantage of the foodshops and stalls along these beaches. Facing Hat Thong Lang are coral ranges. Visitors can choose glass-bottom boats and surface-diving. Hat Samae is located to the southwest while Hat Ta Phan is to the west of the island.

How to get there: Ferries leave South Pattaya Pier daily from 10:00 to 18.30, the one-way fare being 20 Baht. The return ferry leaves Koh Lan Na Ban Beach at 12:00 and 14:00.

Bangkok

Bangkok is Thailand's capital city, it is a modern, exciting and sophisticated city. It offers to visitors not only the cosmopolitan amenities they would expect from other big cities, but also a unique treasure trove of cultural attractions. Thailand, in the heart of Southeast Asia, was never colonised and thus kept its unique culture and heritage intact. Bangkok offers visitors the opportunity to experience fascinating glimpse of Thailand's gentle culture amidst the bustle of a great and dynamic metropolis. This great city has astounding success in combining the ancient and modern world. Travel in Thailand

For tourists, Bangkok has a feast of attractions to offer. The city is dotted with 400 glittering Buddhist temples of great beauty and fascination, magnificent palaces, classical dance extravaganzas, numerous shopping centres and traditional ways of life, especially along the "Venice of the East" timeless canals and the Chao Phraya River of the "River of Kings" winding through the city. It is worth taking a trip along its waters before exploring further into different canals to take a glimpse of old Bangkok. Travel in Thailand

Famous travel spot in Bangkok (famous travel place in Bangkok)

Bangkok is the topical city that have many temples that be the primary tourist attractions of the city. At times, there seems to be another temple around every corner, and that almost really is the case! The "Top three temples" included on almost every tour of the city are Wat Pra Keo, wat Po and Wat Arun that I think all tourists should go to visit there.

This page lists all of the significant temples of the city, as well as some of the more interesting places that aren't on the main tourist trail. You can book tours to the major temples in advance through our travel partner Viator.
Travel in Thailand

1.Grand Palace and Wat Pra Keo

This city landmark should be the first place of any visitor's itinerary. It is a huge compound on Na Phra Lan Road consisting of several buildings with highly decorated architectural designs. Wat Phra Kaeo in the same compound enshrines the Emerald Buddha image, most revered by the Thai people. The complex is open daily from 8.30 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. Admission fee is 125 baht. (including a ticket to Vimanmek Royal Mansion). Proper attire is essential. Travel in Thailand

Wat Pra Keo (Wat Phra Kaeo )

Wat pra Keo or full name called Wat Phra Si Rattanasasadaram, generally called the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is a temple purpose-built to house a Buddha image carved from a large solid piece of green jadite (jasper). Chaophraya Chakri, who went on to become King Rama I, brought the image from Vientiane when he captured the city in 1778. King Rama I built the temple and enshrined the Emerald Buddha there as a symbol of Siam's regained nationhood. The temple does not house any monks. Rather, it is more like the personal chapel of the royal family. travel in Thailand

2.Wat Po(Wat Po )

This temple is actually much older than the city of Bangkok itself. It was founded in the 17th century, making it the oldest temple in Bangkok. The name Wat Po comes from its original name of Wat Potaram. King Rama I, the founder of Bangkok, enlarged the temple, installed many statues and other artefacts recovered from Ayuthaya, and renamed the temple Wat Phra Chetuphon in 1801.

The symbol of this temple is the biggest gold buddha in the temple.

3.Wat Arun(Wat Arun )

It's the star of many a "visit Thailand" poster. Perhaps a better known symbol of Bangkok than the Grand Palace. It's Wat Arun, "the Temple of the Dawn." Unfortunately, being a cover model has its drawbacks, and the temple is probably a little too popular for its own good, but it's still such an outstanding monument that it's worth a visit.

4.Vimanmak Mansion

Vimanmak Mansion is the World's largest golden teakwood mansion with its elaborate architectural style reflecting a western in fluence. This palace was built in the reign of King Rama V in the early 1990's. Travel in Thailand

By the way, the tourist also can visit to the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall where located in the same area as Vimanmak Mansion.

The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall was constructed in the Italian Renaissance and Neo Classic style of architecture. The exterior is decorated with marble from Carrara, Italy.
The Throne Hall is a two storey marble construction approximately 49.50m x 112.50m. and 49.50 meters in height, with a large dome in the centre surrounded by six smaller domes.
The construction of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall was carried out during the later years of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn's life. He passed away in 1910 and to fulfill the late wish of His Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), it was finally completed in 1915. The construction took eight years, and the total budget came to 15 million bath.

5.The Ancient City (http://www.ancientcity.com/muangboran/index.htm)

The Ancient City, like a door opened to the cultural in heritage of Siam.It located at Samutprakarn province where just not far from bangkok and transpotation is very convenience ; car ,bus, train. The visitors are able to see the continuity of the history, arts, cultures, religious, thoughts as well as the believes of Thai talents. It shall reflect to Thai fundamentals and the varieties of the cultures on Thai territories.
The historical of Siam will visually be revived at The Ancient City. All the visitors can see and sense by themselves.

6.Chaina town

Bangkok's Chinatown is an old business centre covering a large area around Yaowarat and Charoen Krung Roads. There are many small streets and alleys full of shops and vendors selling all types of shops and vendors selling all types of goods. It has been the main centre for trading by the Chinese since they were moved from their old site some 200 years ago. Nearby Phahurat or Indian market is one of the city's renowned cloth centres.

Be forewarned that the journey should only be undertaken by those who can withstand extended crowd contact as well as the sometimes unpleasant sights and smells of a traditional fresh market. The reward for tolerating this attack on the sense consists of numerous glimpses into the 'real' day-to-day Bangkok, away from the glittering facade of department stores and office buildings along Bangkok's main avenues - not to mention the opportunity for fabulous bargains. (If you plan to buy anything, you'd better bring along either a phrasebook or an interpreter as very little English is spoken in these areas.)

7.Suan Pakkad Palaceเพิ่มรูปภาพ

Suan Pakkad Palace is located on Si Ayutthaya Road near the Phayathai intersection. This used to be the residence of Princess Chumphot, one of Thailand's leading art collectors. Five traditional Thai houses overlooking a beautifully kept garden display a large collection of Thai arts and antiques.

The traditional Thai buildings which house the Suan Pakkad Palace Collection were erected in 1952 by their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Chumbhot of Nagor Svarga. All are old. Some belonged to Prince Chumbhot's ancestors more than a century ago and have been reassembled here to house the exhibits. The first four houses form a group and are connected by a footbridge. Two other houses and the Lacquer Pavilion (right picture) stand a short distance.

8.Snake farm

The snake farm is an attraction in Bangkok for tourists from all parts of the world. It is visited by scientists, educational bodies and distinguished visitors. Different kinds of poisonous snakes found in the country are kept for venom extraction which is demonstrated to the public at scheduled hours. These venomous snakes are brought in alive by snakecatchers who are farmers by profession and they are paid for at prices according to size and species.

Poisonous snakes found in Thailand are Cobra, King Cobra, Banded Krait, Russell's Viper, a few species of Pit Vipers and some species of Sea Snakes.

9.Suan Lum Night Bar Zaar

Suan Lum Night Bazaar is a market in Bangkok's Pathum Wan district, at the intersection of Rama IV and Wireless/Sathorn Roads, opposite Lumphini Park at the Bangkok Metro's Lumpini station. When locals refer to this market in English their pronunciation sounds like "Suan Lum Night Paza". Located on land owned by the Crown Property Bureau, it opened in 2001. The lease on the property ran out in 2006 and the market will reportedly be closed in 2007.
The Night Bazaar is open from 3pm to midnight, with some shops open until later. It has vendors selling gifts, clothing, jewellery, fruit, compact discs, hand-made products and fine arts, such as paintings and sculptures. There is a large beer garden, with an array of food available, and live entertainment. On the other side of the market there is a quieter area with many restaurants offering both inside and outside garden seating.

Joe Louis Puppet Theatre

Joe Louis Puppet Theatre

The Joe Louis Puppet Theatre, the only troupe of Thai theatrical puppeteers in existence, was awarded the "Best Traditional Performance Award" from among competitors from 44 countries over the world, at the 10th World Festival of Puppet Art, held in Prague. If you are an art history fanatic, this is probably something you should definitely visit. This theater stages dramas entirely acted out by puppets accompanied by traditional Thai music. Performances are as unique as they are authentic.

The play is performed by three puppeteers jointly controlling one puppet and all of whom appear on stage with the puppet thereby creating highly animated, life-like movements. This enables the puppet to move or dance gracefully.

The performance is a showcase for Thailand's cultural heritage and reflects the unstinting efforts of the troupe to preserve this exotic art form. The most popular play performed by the Joe Louis puppet troupe is the famous "Ramayana" epic (Ramakien in Thai), regularly performed in Thailand and the countries of South and Southeast Asia.

The theatre opens from 01.00 p.m. to 09.30 p.m. everyday with a daily performance starting at 08.00 p.m.

Chiang Mai

Chaing Mai

I selected to introduce you about Chiang Mai at the first because Chiang Mai is the once of popular province for tourist and Chiang is the once of famous travel place in Thailand, and my family also live in Chiang Mai, So I think I known well about Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai is a beautiful city with a long history and very old traditions. It is famous for the beauty, culture, natural sceneries, and gentle nature of its people. Now considered the cultural center of the North, and it is the second largestmetropolis in the country,.

Chiang Mai is the second capital of Thailand (The first one is Bangkok) , Chiang Mai is Located on a plain surrounded by mountains, surrounded by lush countryside, and with a cosmopolitan air and a significant expat population, it is much greener and quieter than Bangkok, factors which have led many from Bangkok to settle permanently in this "Rose of the North".

Chiang Mai's historical centre is the walled city (chiang in Thai, hence Chiang Mai - "New Walled City"). Sections of the wall remain at the gates and corners, but of the rest only the moat remains.

Inside Chiang Mai's remaining city walls are more than 30 temples dating back to the founding of the principality, in a combination of Burmese, Sri Lankan and Lanna Thai styles, decorated with beautiful wood carvings, Naga staircases, leonine and angelic guardians, gilded umbrellas and pagodas laced with gold filigree. The most famous is Doi Suthep, which overlooks the city from a 1,050 m (3,500 ft) mountain top 13 km away.

Modern-day Chiang Mai has expanded in all directions, but particularly to the east towards the Ping River (Mae Nam Ping), where Thanon Chang Klan, the famous Night Bazaar and the bulk of Chiang Mai's hotels and guesthouses are located. The locals say you've not experienced Chiang Mai until you've seen the view from Doi Suthep, eaten a bowl of kao soi, and purchased an umbrella from Bo Sang.

I think Chiang Mai is the once place that tourist should go to travel , I regret to the tourists who travelled to Thailand but did not go to Chiang Mai because they had lose opportunity for more wonderful memory in Thailand. So If you come to Thailand "Welcome to Chiangmai".
